Sr IT Infrastructure Specialist

The Role 

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and maintain our Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing Exchange, Sharepoint, Entra ID, Defender, Purview, and Azure storage and computing services including Azure Virtual Desktops. This role requires a strong understanding of Intune and Mobile Device Management (MDM) to configure profiles for Windows devices, as well as experience with Sharepoint and Exchange administration. The candidate will also manage security baselines, Endpoint Security policies, and Intune/Purview Compliance policies to meet organizational security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and SOC2. 
 

Top Job Responsibilities 

  • Management of modern workplace management tools in Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, Sharepoint, Entra ID, Defender, and Purview. 

  • Oversee the configuration and management of Azure Virtual Desktops. 

  • Utilize Intune and MDM to configure and manage device profiles for Windows devices. 

  • Implement and manage device enrollment configurations, including Autopilot. 

  • Deploy applications using the Company Portal and manage app lifecycle. 

  • Conduct vulnerability management using the Autopatch feature. 

  • Bring an understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, begin to find opportunities to provide input to the team, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day 

  • Apply infrastructure fundamentals to operating systems, database, network and TCP/IP, and common communication protocols 

  • Manage security baselines, Endpoint Security policies, and Intune Compliance policies to ensure compliance with organizational security standards (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC2). 

  • Documentation of policies and procedures according to standards. 

  • Create and maintain compliance DLP and Data governance policies using MS Purview. 

  • Monitor system health and performance, ensuring optimal operation and user satisfaction. 

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365-related issues. 

  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration and operation of Microsoft 365 services. 

  • Stay updated with the latest Microsoft 365 features and best practices. 

 

Minimum Requirements and skills 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Administrator. 

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, Sharepoint, Entra ID, Defender, Purview, and Azure Virtual Machines. 

  • Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization 

  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges 

  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills 

  • Proficiency in Intune and MDM for configuring and managing device profiles. 

  • Familiarity with auto provisioning of Windows devices using Autopilot.  

  • Experience resolving issues related to Conditional Access.  

  • Familiarity with app deployment using the Company Portal and vulnerability management using Autopatch. 

  • Ability to manage infrastructure through development and automation using tools such as Powershell and other scripting tools. 

  • Automation skills in Microsoft Power Automate. 

  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC2). 

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Knowledge of JAMF for MacOS client devices is a plus.  

  • AZ-900, MS-102, MD-102, PL-900 and other Microsoft certifications are a plus.
